What is CoQ10?
CoQ10, also known as CoEnzyme Q10 or Ubiquinone, is officially recognized as Ubidecarenone by the US Pharmacopeial Convention (USP).
CoQ10 is a compound that provides energy to the body and is stored in cell mitochondria (the “engine” of cells). Found throughout the body, especially in the heart and liver, it’s used to treat heart disease patients and those suffering from migraines or Parkinson’s disease.
Coenzyme Q10 is naturally produced inside our cells and peaks in production around 20-30 years of age. As we grow older, the production of CoQ10 is gradually reduced.
