To minimize Waxhead’s carbon footprint, we strive to combine the best existing methods and the latest modern techniques. We evaluate and adjust our processes in choosing and sourcing ingredients, and producing, packaging and distributing our products. Here are some of our initiatives to create and sustain industry-best green practices.
We match 100% of the energy we consume through shipping and mailed packages with renewable energy. In short, we pay to offset the shipments of all our delivery emissions. More details.
We seek to keep our packaging to a minimum. We do not use single-use product boxes for our skincare. To lessen waste, we reuse nearly all shipping boxes and packaging materials we receive to ship products to customers, influencers, retailers and distributors.
We recycle cardboard, paper, plastic, glass, ink cartridges, bottles and cans. Our sunscreen sticks, tubes and lip balm tubes are all recyclable.
We continually look to revise current products and create new ones with less or without plastic containers or packaging.
All our products are safe for marine systems, reefs and fish — they are biodegradable and contain none of the petrochemicals known to have feminizing effects on fish, coral toxicity or bioaccumulation issues.
We only use high-quality certified mineral and organic ingredients. We do not use any toxic chemicals, fragrances, synthetics or dyes.
All our skincare products are certified Leaping Bunny safe (absolutely no animal testing). All products are fully certified by the FDA, and we only test our products on ourselves.
Our line of sun apparel is made from 100% recycled post-consumer content. One of our long sleeve Waxhead sun shirts keeps 8-12 plastic bottles out of our landfills and oceans.
We treat our partners, employees and customers with respect, and we act on the belief that a rising tide lifts all boats.
It’s important to us to educate our audience on conservation efforts and inspire them to take steps of significance in their homes, and in their waters, beaches and boats.
You won’t see us handle fish by the gills or hang them upside down, in real life or on social media. We practice and teach how to handle marine life for a proper catch and release.
We’ve organized dozens of beach cleanups, and every time we go to the beach, we take our big bucket and fill it up with beach trash. It’s a little thing, but through small steps in the same direction.
We are passionate about protecting our coasts and oceans, and we donate a portion of our profits to the Coastal Conservation Association.
In April 2017, we traveled to Tallahassee, Florida for the Now Or Neverglades Sportfishing Day. As Floridians, this project is dear to our hearts.
We only ship products to our customers via the US Postal Service. This cuts down on green gas emissions because those trucks are not making special deliveries (like UPS + FedEx).
We work on new eco-friendly products and adjustments to our evolving product line all the time. We are always researching ways to streamline our shipping and operational activities to reduce carbon waste.
