I was using bare minerals tinted moisturizer and mixed in a little sunscreen for my daily make up. After reviewing the ingredients, I thought there had to be something a little cleaner and that could both provide sun protection and serve as a foundation replacement. Found wax head by searching EWG skin deep. Very basic ingredients, I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now and I absolutely love it. It exceeded expectations, coverage is great. A little thicker than a regular moisturizer, as it is a sunscreen. However just be sure to shake tube before use. I love this product and recommend it to everyone!

This stuff is fantastic, even better than the last great sunscreen I had (that went out of business). I had MF, a cancerous lymphoma that presents only as an innocent-looking little pink rash. After going through many doctors, I finally found one who could treat it but they did so with intensive UVA light baths. All of which was great, it disappeared but at the end they mentioned that as a byproduct of the treatment they had burned off ALL of my skin's natural protection and I would, for the rest of my life, have to wear big hats, long sleeve shirts and pants, etc. and lots of SUNSCREEN, or I would get skin cancer (so I traded a cure for one cancer for the possibility of another). So I've been doing as they said and now I have Waxhead suncreen and I am SO RELIEVED -- because without it I would almost certainly struggle with all the other (96%) of sunscreens that protect you by interrupting your hormones (the ones that tell you you are burned). Works great on my oily acne prone skin. Do not need anything else. A little goes a long way and once it dries down it is perfect. I was initially concerned about some of the ingredients, but skin has never felt better. Highly recommend.

I needed a sunscreen without silicones so I think the ingredients are great. The color is great and it goes on no problem. However, I am active and outside a lot so I sweat a lot, and I felt that I was wiping it off shortly after putting it on because it made my face feel very sweaty. It is not practical for me to be reapplying multiple times a day and would probably make my skin break out worse than usual. Maybe it’ll work better for me in the winter?

The product quality itself is super unique, hydrating and clean ingredients. But the LIGHT & MEDIUM shades aren’t the best. The MEDIUM is a “golden warm tan” whereas the LIGHT is a “cool medium pinkish blush” shade. There needs to be a THIRD option in between that’s more of a neutral tint. This is the reason I’m giving a 3-star rating.
This sunscreen is only so so. The tint is very pink. It leaves sunscreen film on anything you touch. Stains clothing, car, etc.

I have tried many sunscreens over the years. This one is the best I've tried. I'm fair skinned, redheaded, and 57 with sensitive skin. This one protects wonderfully, it looks like a dewy, beautiful foundation, goes on easily, and I don't even have to wear face make up, now. This will be the only face and neck sunscreen I will use. I love that it is a vegan formula, and doesn't harm the sea creatures, being reef safe. I find that the big tube is a great price for all you are getting! Thank you to the company that makes it!
I found this product after researching long and hard for a healthy, non-toxic tinted sunscreen option. This product is a perfect makeup replacement. It gives a beautiful glow. If you use a little too much it can look a little oily at first, but using less and giving it a few minutes to dry down leaves the perfect skin like finish. The 4oz tube will last me a long time.The lighter tint is really pretty but left the slightest white cast on my olive skin, so I tried the dark tint. The dark was a little too orange for me, but Shannon was so gracious and sent me a quick replacement lighter shade. I just discovered that by mixing the two shades I can make a “custom” shade that is a perfect match for my skin. I don’t think I will ever go back to foundation! When I had a question about the PA+ rating (which is ++++) Shannon left a detailed voicemail to explain everything. Love what this company stands for and the level of customer service. This stuff is great for me personally. It is a physical sunscreen so be prepared for a bit of a tint, but it hides blemishes well which was a pleasant, unexpected side effect.
I used this product this past summer living in the Northeast U.S. At first I was putting it on too thick then learned to use the right amount. If it's too thick it can wipe off if I accidentally touch my face. Bicycle rider and outdoor court sports. I'm going to stay with it, after so many years of loading my face up with chemicals every day I'm scared of long-term chemical effects.
This product has protected me from hours of sunshine over the last several years. The tint is very natural looking, it blends well with my very fair skin and would work on skin several shades darker. I use it on my face and have not experienced breakouts. I know one person who doesn't like the smell, but I don't think it has much scent at all; what little scent present is very mild and slightly mineral. The feel is mostly non-greasy.
